Terms of Service

1. Who can use MMCO

Anyone can browse player profiles, leaderboards, and stats without signing in. Logging in with Discord unlocks the ability to customize your own profile card. Some features — like submitting players to the directory — are only available to verified members of the MMCO Discord server.

2. Your account

We sign you in through Discord OAuth — we never see or store your Discord password. You're responsible for anything that happens under your account. If your Discord account gets compromised or something looks off, let us know through the server and we'll help.

3. The reputation directory

MMCO tracks player reputations across Hypixel Murder Mystery. Statuses like "cheater" or "teamer" represent the community's judgment based on submitted evidence — they aren't official verdicts, legal findings, or absolute statements of fact. If you think your profile was submitted unfairly or by mistake, reach out to us through Discord and we'll look into it.

4. Submitting players and evidence

When you report a player, be honest. When you upload evidence — screenshots, clips, replay files — make sure you have the right to share it. By uploading evidence, you're giving us permission to store and display it in connection with the relevant player profile.

5. Keep it fair

You agree not to:

• Submit or vote on players purely out of personal grudges — the directory exists for gameplay-related concerns
• Upload fabricated or edited evidence
• Harass, threaten, or coordinate targeted abuse toward any player
• Attempt to access accounts that aren't yours or bypass any role or permission restrictions
• Bulk-download or scrape data in a way that bypasses our rate limits
• Use the MMD bot to spam or flood Discord servers
• Use MMCO in violation of Hypixel's Server Rules or Discord's Terms of Service

Found a security issue? Please let us know privately through Discord before going public.

6. MMD — the Discord bot

MMD (Murder Mystery Directory) is our companion bot. You can look up players with /mmd and file reports with /report. Reports are forwarded publicly (but anonymously) to our replay analysis channel. The bot logs lookups for abuse prevention — more on that in our Privacy Policy.

7. Third-party data

Stats come from the public Hypixel API. Usernames and skins come from Mojang's public services. We display this data but don't own it, and we can't guarantee it's always perfectly up to date. These services can change or go down at any time.

8. Our name and branding

The MMCO name, "logo", and site design are ours. Don't use them to suggest we endorse or are affiliated with something we're not. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Studios — MMCO is an independent community project with no affiliation with Mojang Studios, Microsoft, or Hypixel Inc.

9. Losing access

We can remove your access if you break these Terms. You can leave anytime by revoking MMCO's permissions in your Discord Authorised Apps settings.

10. No guarantees

MMCO is provided as-is. We're a volunteer-run community project and we do our best, but we can't promise uptime, perfect accuracy, or that nothing ever breaks. Use it at your own risk.

11. Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, MMCO and its contributors aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

12. Updates

We'll update this page when things change. If it's a significant change, we'll post about it in the Discord. Using MMCO after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
